Product FAQs

The InSight ships with a standard USB-C power cable which can plug into just about any USB-C power supply, charger, wall outlet with built in charging, or even a portable battery pack. A power supply is not shipped with the InSight because we know that this it is common to have one of these options already available and we wanted to keep costs down to the consumer.

NO! Connecting the InSight to the Apex will cause it to fail and will not be covered by the warranty. While the Apex has ports that appear to be USB connections, they are NOT! You will destroy your InSight if you do this.

The InSight is initially set up, and configured ongoing, using the MyAquarium App you download from either the Apple iOS App Store, or the Google Play Store for Android.

If this is the case, when you buy our frag rack you will need to purchase our ModMag Giga which is rated by us for up to 3/4″ (19mm). Then, you simply buy your frag rack choice as an accessory. The cost difference buying the stronger magnet a la carte this way is only a few dollars more. Some even prefer this on thinner glass just to get that extra grip.

YES! Unlike many other magnetic frag racks out there both our inside and outside magnets, the ModMag, are identical.  All ModMag are ultrasonically sealed against water and sample tested at >10x the depth of the average aquarium. Best of all, they are guaranteed for life!

The red silicone glass-gripper pad included with your frag rack is used to provide just a little more stiction by way of both the way the silicone interacts with the glass, as well as adding some amount of negative pressure (suction) between the ModMag and the glass. You will want to use this pad for the outer magnet so you can always lift it slightly from the glass and slide your frag rack to the the top of the tank to add or remove frags or perform cleaning. It is not required to be used. If you do want to use it, you must first remover the red beauty band on the ModMag. Simply press against this red band with  your thumb, grab, and peel it off. Then put the silicone glass-gripper on and push its edges into the slot around the ModMag.

Most aquarium controller probes, except the temperature probe, are fairly standard and have ~13mm diameter. The probe organizers will accomodate probes from 10-14mm in diameter.

The latest Apex aquarium controller temperature probe has changed from before and will fit in the probe organizer like any other. However, the prior one (identified with a black cap on the end) will fit the organizer but it must be installed from the bottom up. That is, the wire should be fed through the bottom first, and then the probe will come up from the bottom. The silicone Slide-Loc system will hold it just fine in that orientation.

With these smaller, “capsule” shaped or titanium temperature sensors, you can fit them into our included adapter and then they will function like any other probe. No longer do you need to have these probes dancing around the bottom of your sump, or in an area like near a pump or heater that might give them a false reading.

The traveler series of products has three models, Mini, Trio, and Mega. The Mini and Trio are almost certainly leak proof providing there is not foreign matter caught in the seal and the seal is properly in place. The Mega model is not assured to be completely leakproof in all orientations and uses. Due to the volume of water it holds, in some circumstances like orienting it upside down or sideways in a bag or backpack may cause you to notice slight dripping if subjected to a lot of motion or jostling. We suggest keeping the Mega oriented upright when in use and in transit.

The Traveler MEGA includes two Manta Ray frag racks with attached ModMag Mega magnet sets on each. These ModMag Mega are rated for 1/2″ (13mm) glass or acrylic.

YES! This is the best part. If you purchase separately a ModMag Mega or ModMag Giga, the Taveler Trio and Traveler Mini both contain frag racks that mount to these. Now, when you get home from a frag-run, you don’t need to stress about where to put your new beauties – just toss them on the rack and see where they like it best in your tank for flow and light.

The WMNT Wyze Camera Mount works best with the Wyze Cam v4. However, The V2 and V3 will fit but you will need to remove the red beauty band from the ModMag and put that around the outside of the camera. This will allow it to have a snug fit in the WMNT. Replace the beauty-band on the ModMag with the included red silicone glass-gripper.

The standard Wyze cam was designed to have a focal distance at about 36″. With this lens, the focal distance is shortened to about 9″. This enables the camera to focus better on your fish and corals. The lens is pushed into the mount ahead of Wyze camera.

The included yellow filter can be used by reefkeepers that have a more blue-shifted lighting preference. This will help balance the picture color better. Put this filter in after the lens, and before you slide in the Wyze camera.
